Snow!

This morning we finally got our first decent snowfall of the season. The kids were so happy to see snow. We had to send Gabe with snow pants, gloves, his hat, and snow boots today. Kindergarteners have to get dressed in all of their gear before heading to the cafeteria for lunch, they eat in their snowsuits, and then they head out for recess.
Grace and I had to brave the roads to make it to her soccer class and run a few errands and then we spent the rest of the afternoon outside. She helped me shovel the driveway and then she insisted on walking to school to get Gabe. He wasn't quite as thrilled about walking back in the snow as she was, but he made it. Once home we stayed inside our warm house and did a few craft projects and then we made a fire and roasted marshmallows after dinner.
The kids discovered fusion beads recently and used some gift card money to buy a set. The kit comes with special beads, boards to design on, and an idea book with all sorts of pictures and designs to replicate. They have really enjoyed creating their own designs and melting the beads together with a hot iron. Today we attached a few to their backpacks and they were delighted.
Tomorrow we have a buddy coming over for an all day playdate and I think we're going to head to the sled hill. Should be a fun time! Can't wait!!
