After a rather nice break for the holidays the kids headed back to school this morning. They did a pretty good job of getting back in the swing of the morning routine and heading off to school. Gabe was excited to use his new backpack from Santa to haul his homework and lunch to school and Grace was excited to try out her new ear muffs. I was happy to get back into my own workout routine and I was able to make use of my small amount of "free" time this morning.
After lunch Grace and I headed over to the nature preserve by our house and took a walk, collected sticks, and threw things into the river. We had a nice time, but it was super windy so we headed back home and drew pictures on the driveway and we played soccer in the garage. After we picked up Gabe we had a playdate with one of the girls in Gabe's class and her big brother. The kids had a good time and we barely made it home in time to make dinner. We had a fun-filled first day back to school!
