Today I found this in Gabe's backpack...it is the first paragraph and real story that he wrote totally on his own in his own phonetic spelling. I think it is an awesome story and he was pretty proud of it. If you can't make it out is says;
Gabe's Fairy Tale
Once upon a time there was a land made out of candy, but it was mostly made out of chocolate. But sadly, it became hot and the chocolate melted. Happily, a cold machine came and made it cold and the chocolate came back. Finally, they were happy. The End.
I think that is quite a bit of writing for a kindergartener. He must have been on a roll, because tonight he got a notebook out and wrote down all of the kids that came to his birthday party and what they gave him. Then he wrote a letter to his friend Cooper. It was really cute and he kept himself busy for an hour or so writing!
